Robert (Bob) Sharp leads the Emerson Climate Technologies business, which posted sales of $4 billion in 2015. He was appointed an Emerson executive vice president and the Climate Technologies business leader in 2015. Emerson Climate Technologies is a world-leading provider of heating, air conditioning and refrigeration solutions for residential, industrial and commercial applications.
Sharp previously served as vice president of profit planning for Emerson and most recently led the development and implementation of the company’s Perfect Execution strategy, which generates long-term strategic operating plans for all of Emerson’s business units. He also supervised the company’s Corporate Supply Chain Operations.
Sharp joined Emerson in 1996 as a strategic planner at the corporate headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri. In 1998, he was appointed director of investor relations. In 2002, Sharp moved to the Rosemount Measurement business unit in Chanhassen, Minnesota, where he served as vice president of global marketing and vice president of global temperature. In 2006, he was named president of the Sweden-based Rosemount Level and Marine business. In 2009, Sharp was appointed president of Emerson Process Management Europe. In 2013 he was named vice president of profit planning and served in that role until 2015.
Sharp holds a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering from Michigan Technological University and a master’s degree in business administration from Harvard Business School.
