Emerson Reinforces Commitment to China Market With Opening of New Headquarters in Shanghai
Shanghai (Nov 19, 2015)― Emerson (NYSE: EMR), the U.S.-based technology and manufacturing company, officially opened its new China headquarters offices in Shanghai today. The new headquarters consolidates more than 300 Emerson employees who were previously at multiple locations in Shanghai. The headquarters includes the company’s China management team and sales, marketing, human resources, finance, legal and customer care teams from Emerson corporate and its Climate Technologies, Industrial Automation, and Commercial & Residential Solutions businesses.
Jennie Li, Emerson China General Manager officiated at today’s ceremony. Emerson Chairman and Chief Executive Officer David N. Farr, President of Asia Pacific Sara Yang Bosco , relevant officials from the Shanghai government, and other distinguished guests attend the ribbon cutting ceremony.
“Emerson has been investing in China since the 1970s and our employees in China have worked hard to grow China into our largest international market today,” said Mr. Farr. “The opening of this new China headquarters in Shanghai is a symbol of Emerson’s long-term commitment to support China’s economic development.”
“The new Emerson China headquarters will strengthen communication and collaboration among our business units to continue to offer technology and engineering innovation, high standard of ethics, and excellent service to our customers,” said Ms. Li, general manager of Emerson China.
The new Emerson China headquarters is at CaoHeJing Hi-Tech Park, Shanghai. Emerson has invested USD 2.5 million in the lease, office furnishings and installing of IT technologies for five floors in the LEED-certified office building.
To meet the needs of Chinese, Asian and global customers, Emerson today has 23 manufacturing facilities and 22 engineering centers in 14 major cities in China (Shanghai, Shenzhen, Suzhou, Fuzhou, Beijing, Tianjin, Qingdao, Jiangmen, Chengdu, Mianyang, Shenyang, Nanjing, Zhangzhou and Xi’an). In addition, Emerson has been expanding and strengthening its Asian procurement presence in China.
